Nurture |
Like all United Methodist Churches, we like to take care of each other. For McUMC, that also means building up the body of Christ. Our Nurture focus is on forging and strengthening the connectional bond between the fourteen member churches of McUMC. Twice yearly, the county United Methodists come together to celebrate our common Wesleyan heritage and worship as the body of Christ. Though some have heard that it is possible for United Methodists to get together and not eat, that theory has never yet been tested. McUMC also sponsors an Ice Cream Social in the summer months. Its an excellent opportunity to meet and greet the pastors appointed to the Marshall County area--both returning and those newly appointed. Churches are also encouraged to train together at special events sponsored by the cooperative. Occasionally, an expert will come in to provide leadership to all the churches instead of travelling to each individual congregation. Lately, we've seen seminars on Financial Planning, Evangelism, and hosted the Prayereach Seminar. For more information on these and other aspects of your McUMC cooperative ministry, contact Jerri Cross at 270 527-5147. |
